I am a Registered Nurse, certified in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (RNC-EFM). I graduated from Calvin College (now Calvin University) in 1989 with a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).

For over three decades, I worked in Women’s Services at one of the largest birthing centers of the Midwest. I was a bedside nurse and a charge nurse. I also spent time in the role of Specialty Nurse Consultant, which focused on Patient Quality and Safety and the mentoring of new Labor & Delivery nurses. I favored the operating room and was affectionately known as the “OR Queen”. I was passionate about working with patients experiencing perinatal loss and I readily embraced the challenge of the high risk patient.

I love to spend time with my husband, adult children and incredible grandchildren. I enjoy adventure travel and am a voracious reader.  I meditate daily, am an avid cyclist and a seasoned yogi.
